Relais Ortaglia – Getting married in a stunning venue surrounded by the vineyards and nestled in one of the most beautiful Tuscan countryside, Montepulciano!
Relais Ortaglia, once a seventeenth century farmhouse, has now been transformed and completely renovated into a certified eco-friendly establishment where Sandy, Phil and their 4-legged friend Cooper are ready to welcome you and take you into the real authentic Tuscan tradition!
CURIOSITY: 400 years ago the pilgrims going to San Biagio would stop in this farmhouse to take some rest. From here the name RELAIS (a place to rest). ORTAGLIA instead is VEGETABLES as the whole property was a vegetable garden.
The Relais is a family-run business, managed by Sandie and her husband Phil who got in love with this property, and decided to settle in and start their new Italian chapter here (they are American natives). It is the ideal venue for 40 to 50 guests in Tuscany considering the indoor options for a possible plan B. It is possible to celebrate the religious ceremony in the nearby Church of San Biagio or the civil ceremony at the Comune of Montelpulciano, both are less than 2km distant. Cocktail in the infinity pool, meal amidst the olive groves and vineyards or in the huge lawn. You have lots of different choices for the various moments for a guaranteed WOW effect to your guests.

ACCOMMODATION: 5 units for a total of 10 real beds and 2 additional beds
MINIMUM STAY: 3 nights and exclusive rental of the entire property is required
USEFUL INFORMATION: Above 12 guests, an external catering is required; the indoor spaces are good to host up to 50 guests for cocktail, meal and after party. The infinity pool has amazing views and it is open from May to October (it is not heated however being in the sun all-day, the water is just good for a swim). Above 50 guests, it is recommended to rent a marquee in case of rain. Huge on-site parking.
WEDDING MOMENTS: symbolic ceremony in front of the vineyards in the garden overlooking Monte Amiata and Montepulciano or under the pergola. The cocktail in the pool or in the courtyard, dinner under the stars in the lawn or the olive groves; party and dance in the open lawn with open bar in the pool.

- If you want to learn that secret recipe of your favorite Tuscan dish, Sandie is available to hold cooking classes combined with wine tastings of the local labels (Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino).
- You are selfie-addicted and always looking for the perfect shot? Then right from Ortaglia’s property, you leave for a fun hot-air balloon ride to admire Montepulciano from the clouds! You land in the field for a prosecco brunch and you get driven back to the Relais.
- Building connections and long-term friendships by enjoying a barbecue or pizza night directly with Sandie and Phil, and of course Cooper!
- Special activity with Cooper – truffle hunting! Who doesn’t love truffles?
